Kafka, Flink, Spark, Airflow and Metabase Join Our Open-Source Platforms
Bassirah now provides independent engineering and support for Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow and Metabase Open Source Edition.

Bassirah has added five platforms to its independent open-source engineering and support: Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow and Metabase Open Source Edition. Each has its own page describing what we do and where our responsibility ends.
What is new
- Apache Kafka: design, migration and operation of self-managed clusters, from KRaft and partition design to upgrades and cross-cluster recovery.
- Apache Flink: assessment, design and operation of stateful stream processing, with state, checkpoints and upgrades tested against your own jobs.
- Apache Spark: design, tuning, upgrades and operation for batch, SQL and streaming workloads, including Spark 4 migrations.
- Apache Airflow: design, upgrades and operation of orchestration, including the move from Airflow 2 to Airflow 3.
- Metabase Open Source Edition: deployment, security and operation on infrastructure you control, from a PostgreSQL application database to rehearsed upgrades.
Why these five
Streaming, processing, orchestration and self-service analytics sit between the databases, lakehouses and catalogs we already support. Teams that run them together tend to need help across the boundaries, for example when a Kafka upgrade affects Flink jobs, or an Airflow migration changes how Spark work is scheduled.
The same support model
All five follow our Open-Source Support Model. We commit to response and diagnosis, restore service with workarounds first, and take code defects to each project’s community with a reproducible case. Code fixes and release dates remain with the projects. Commercial editions of related products follow their vendors’ own support terms.
Technical Insights articles on Kafka 4, Flink 2, Spark 4, Airflow 3 and moving Metabase to PostgreSQL are already available in the Technical Insights section.
Independent engineering services
These are independent Bassirah engineering and support offerings. They do not imply upstream vendor or foundation endorsement, official vendor support rights, enterprise feature entitlement or maintenance guarantees.
