STRATEGIC TECHNOLOGY PARTNER · STRATEGY

Define Your Metrics Once. Use Them Across Dashboards, Apps and Agents.

Build governed analytics on Strategy Mosaic and Strategy BI. Bassirah models business definitions, security and data access on top of your governed data platforms, then delivers them to reporting, embedded analytics and AI agents.

Prefer self-managed open-source BI? See Apache Superset support →

Strategy is one of Bassirah’s Strategic Technology Partners. Our relationship is subject to the applicable Strategy partner program and agreement. Implementation scope, resell rights and support entitlements are confirmed in each customer engagement. Available features depend on your Strategy plan, edition, contract and deployed version.

WHY STRATEGY

Consistent Metrics for People, Applications and AI

When every dashboard, application and AI agent calculates revenue, margin or churn its own way, teams argue about numbers instead of acting on them.

Strategy describes Strategy Mosaic as a universal semantic layer that defines governed metrics, relationships, calculations and access policies once and applies them across BI, applications, data products and AI. Mosaic connects to data where it already lives, and exposes the same definitions to BI tools, applications and AI agents through SQL, DAX, MDX, REST APIs and MCP. Alongside Mosaic, Strategy offers enterprise reporting, interactive dashboards and embedded analytics.

A semantic layer is only as good as the data and definitions behind it. Bassirah starts from your governed data platforms, metric owners and access rules, then designs, implements and validates the semantic model and the BI experiences on top of it against agreed acceptance criteria. Capabilities differ by Strategy plan, edition and deployed version.

  • Business definitions, hierarchies and security modeled once, on top of your existing warehouse or lakehouse.
  • The same governed metrics in Strategy dashboards, in other BI tools and in AI agents.
  • Access policies and audit designed in from the start, not added after rollout.

WHAT BASSIRAH DELIVERS

From Metric Definitions to Production Analytics

Our Strategy engagements cover the semantic layer, the analytics experiences on top of it and the operating model around both.

  • Assess analytics landscape, data platforms and metric definitions, and recommend the Strategy plan and deployment model to evaluate.
  • Design the semantic model in Mosaic: metrics, attributes, hierarchies and relationships, with named owners for each definition.
  • Connect Mosaic to your warehouse, lakehouse and operational sources, and validate data types, query behavior and load.
  • Implement row-level and object-level security and user privileges aligned with your identity and access model.
  • Expose governed definitions to the BI tools and applications you already use, and to AI agents through Mosaic’s MCP server where licensed.
  • Build enterprise reports and dashboards, and evaluate AI-assisted features such as Auto Dashboard and Auto Narratives where available.
  • Embed analytics into products and portals with Strategy’s embedding APIs and single sign-on.
  • Plan migration from legacy BI or earlier MicroStrategy deployments, then hand over runbooks or continue with contracted managed support.

USE CASES

Where Partner-Led Strategy Delivers Value

Solution concepts. Each design is validated against your data and tools.

A governed semantic layer across BI tools

Define metrics once in Mosaic and serve them to Strategy dashboards and to other BI tools, so finance, operations and product teams report the same numbers.

Governed data for AI agents

Give AI agents and assistants governed business definitions and access policies through Mosaic’s MCP server instead of raw tables.

Enterprise reporting and embedded analytics

Deliver reports, dashboards and white-labeled analytics inside your products and portals, on the same governed definitions.

ARCHITECTURE DISCIPLINE

The Decisions That Determine Trusted Analytics

Semantic layer and BI outcomes are decided by data, definitions and ownership more than by dashboards. We make these decisions explicit, document them and test them.

Available capabilities depend on Strategy plan, edition, contract and deployed version. Performance and cost outcomes are defined with you and validated in a proof of concept. We do not publish vendor accuracy, token or cost figures.
Design areaWhat we decideHow we validate
Plan and deploymentStrategy plan and edition, cloud or private deployment, environmentsDecision record against operating model, compliance and cost assumptions
Data sourcesWhich warehouse, lakehouse and operational sources Mosaic connects to, and howConnectivity, data type and query load tests on representative data
Semantic modelMetrics, attributes, hierarchies, calendars and relationships; owner per definitionReconciliation of key metrics against agreed reference reports
SecurityRow-level and object-level security, privileges, identity integrationAccess tests per role against your control framework
ConsumptionStrategy dashboards and reports, other BI tools, applications, AI agents via MCPSame-question, same-answer checks across consumers
AI featuresWhich AI-assisted and agent capabilities to enable, for whom, on which dataPilot with agreed quality and governance criteria
OperationsMonitoring, audit, change control for definitions, upgrade pathChange rehearsal and audit review
Governed data platforms such as an Apache Iceberg lakehouse, a cloud warehouse, Trino OSS or Starburst federation, ClickHouse (partner-led or OSS) and operational sources feed Strategy Mosaic, a universal semantic layer that holds metric definitions, hierarchies, relationships, security policies and audit. The same governed definitions reach Strategy BI reports and dashboards, other BI tools through SQL, DAX or MDX, applications and embedded analytics through REST APIs, and AI agents through MCP, depending on plan, edition and deployed version. DataHub Core can optionally provide upstream ownership and lineage. Bassirah's delivery scope spans modeling, integration, security, migration and operations, while Strategy vendor support is provided under the customer's subscription.

WORKS WELL WITH

Strategy in an Integrated Data Platform

A semantic layer sits on top of governed data. We connect Strategy to the platforms that store, serve and govern that data, where the connector and your versions support it.

Trino OSS or Starburst

Federated SQL access across sources; Strategy lists a Trino JDBC driver among its connectors.

ClickHouse

Analytical serving underneath dashboards, on partner-led ClickHouse or ClickHouse OSS. Strategy lists a ClickHouse JDBC driver.

DataHub Core

Ownership, glossary and lineage for the data behind your metrics, governed upstream of the semantic layer.

Postman

Test and document the REST APIs and MCP endpoints that applications and agents use to reach governed data.

Strategy: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The company rebranded from MicroStrategy to Strategy in February 2025. Its enterprise analytics software is now marketed under the Strategy name, including Strategy Mosaic and Strategy BI. Bassirah works with Strategy’s enterprise analytics software.

Strategy describes Mosaic as a universal semantic layer. It defines governed metrics, relationships, calculations and access policies once and applies them across BI tools, applications, data products and AI agents. It connects to data where it already lives and offers access through SQL, DAX, MDX, REST APIs and MCP.

No. Strategy positions Mosaic as a layer above your data platforms and beneath your tools, so teams can keep using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau while reading the same governed definitions. We confirm which tools, connectors and versions you run before designing the integration.

Strategy states that AI agents can query governed metrics through Mosaic’s MCP server, with access controls applied. We design which data and definitions agents can reach, test answers against agreed reference results and monitor usage. No semantic layer guarantees that an AI answer is correct, so evaluation stays part of the design.

No. Vendor support is provided by Strategy according to the customer’s own subscription. Bassirah provides architecture, implementation, migration, integration and contracted managed support alongside it.

It depends on how many tools and consumers need the same governed metrics, your need for enterprise reporting and embedded analytics, commercial support requirements and how much infrastructure you want to run. We compare both routes for your workload; see the comparison above.
