Bassirah Technology

BANKING & FINANCIAL SERVICES

Trusted Data and Fast Decisions for Financial Institutions.

Modernize finance and risk data while protecting consistency, lineage, auditability and customer experience. Bassirah designs platforms for banks, fintechs and payment providers that separate low-latency decisions from investigation and governed reporting, with every performance target proven on your own transaction path.

THE CHALLENGE

Speed, Scrutiny and Scale, All at Once.

Financial institutions must decide in milliseconds, explain those decisions months later, and reconcile every number across systems that were never designed to work together.

Decisions on the transaction path

Fraud and risk checks sit inside the customer experience. Every extra hop in the scoring path adds latency, and analytical systems are rarely built to sit inline.

Investigations across fragmented history

Analysts need fast access to months of events, customer context and alerts spread across core banking, cards, payments and case-management systems.

Lineage that stands up to review

Risk, finance and regulatory reports must be traceable to their sources, with clear ownership, tested transformations and documented changes.

Reconciliation and consistency

Finance and risk figures must agree across ledgers, data marts and reports, even as volumes grow and new digital channels are added.

RISK INTELLIGENCE

Real-Time Risk Intelligence Without Sacrificing Governance.

Bring together transaction events, customer context and historical risk signals through an architecture that separates low-latency operational decisions from investigations and analytical reporting. Bassirah helps teams define where Redis, ClickHouse, Trino or Starburst, PostgreSQL, and metadata governance each belong, and where a dedicated scoring service or streaming pipeline remains essential.

What we offer

  • Fraud and risk data architecture workshop
  • Transaction-path profiling to locate latency and consistency risks
  • Compliance-aware historical analytics design
Fast decision path running alongside a deeper investigation archive

OUTCOMES

Where We Help Financial Institutions Move Faster.

Four outcome areas where the right separation of operational, analytical and governance layers makes a measurable difference.

Real-time transaction & portfolio analytics

Give risk, treasury and product teams fresh views of transactions and positions using an analytical engine sized for concurrency and query shape, rather than overloading core systems.

Fraud & anomaly monitoring

Combine fast online feature retrieval for the decision application with high-volume investigative analytics for monitoring, trend analysis and alert triage.

Financial reporting reconciliation

Build tested, documented dbt models and DataHub lineage so finance and regulatory figures can be traced from report back to source.

Governed lakehouse & AI operations

Federate risk and history sources with Trino or Starburst, retain governed data on MinIO AIStor, and observe AI applications with Langfuse, all with explicit access controls.

REFERENCE APPROACH

The Right Engine for Each Part of the Decision Path.

ClickHouse and Redis for selected real-time patterns, DataHub and dbt for governed reporting, and Trino or Starburst for federated access. Each component has a defined responsibility, and none replaces the institution’s own scoring logic or systems of record.

The Right Engine for Each Part of the Decision Path.
ComponentRole in the patternQualification
Risk decision applicationApproval logic and model scoringOwned by the institution or a designated application, not by the data platform
RedisFast online feature retrieval and operational cacheStrict consistency, access and expiration policies; source-of-truth data stays in authoritative systems
ClickHouseFraud investigation, monitoring and trend analysisNot assumed to sit in the synchronous transaction decision path
Trino OSS or StarburstFederated access to governed risk and history sourcesAvoided for latency-critical scoring; connector behavior validated per source
PostgreSQLOperational application data and case-management stateSized and protected for the workload; HA/DR designed per scope
DataHub + dbtLineage, ownership and tested data modelsImproves analytical trust; permissions are still enforced in the underlying systems

Logical decision path

  1. SubmitThe transaction gateway or core system submits an event to the risk decision application.
  2. Retrieve featuresThe decision application retrieves fresh online features from Redis under defined freshness and access rules.
  3. InvestigateEvents and historical activity feed ClickHouse for investigations, monitoring and trend analysis.
  4. FederateTrino OSS or Starburst connects governed risk and history sources for exploratory and regulatory queries.
  5. TraceDataHub lineage and dbt-tested models make reporting traceable from source to dashboard.

Conceptual pattern. Every connector, licensed capability, version and deployment topology is validated in a project-specific architecture.

PROOF PACKAGE

Define Success Before You Build.

We agree an end-to-end risk API SLO and per-stage latency budget with you, then measure the pattern on your environment and chosen scoring path. These are the metrics we validate. They are not guaranteed results.

What we measure

  • Validated p95/p99 decision time, end to end and per stage
  • Model precision and recall, and decision correctness
  • Operational availability of each subsystem
  • Lineage coverage across risk and regulatory reporting assets
  • Alert investigation turnaround and data drift thresholds

What you receive

  • Architecture decision record
  • Target SLOs and latency budgets
  • Secure data-flow model
  • Phased proof-of-concept acceptance criteria

ARCHITECTURE BLUEPRINT

Banking Fraud & Risk Data Platform

Design fraud analytics around the decision path. This blueprint separates real-time decisions, operational data access, investigative analytics and governed history, with explicit ownership of scoring logic, feature freshness, query performance and incident handling.

Stack: Redis · ClickHouse · Trino / Starburst · PostgreSQL · DataHub · dbt

Delivery caveat.

Bassirah validates sector-specific residency, privacy, retention, security and regulatory requirements during discovery. Product selection alone does not confer compliance. Latency targets are validated on the customer’s scoring and data-access path, and availability and service levels are defined per contract.

ENGAGEMENT OFFERS

Start with Evidence, Not Assumptions.

Fraud & Risk Data Architecture Workshop

Map your decision path, investigation needs and reporting obligations to a target pattern and documented technology responsibilities.

Transaction-Path Profiling

Measure where latency and consistency risks sit today, stage by stage, and set a realistic latency budget for the target design.

Compliance-Aware Historical Analytics Design

Design retention, lineage and federated access for investigations and reporting, with controls defined alongside your risk and legal teams.

Banking & Financial Services FAQs

No architecture alone proves end-to-end latency. We agree a risk API SLO and a per-stage latency budget, then validate them on your scoring path and data access during a proof of concept.

Not by default. In our reference pattern, Redis supports fast online feature retrieval for the decision application, and ClickHouse serves investigations, monitoring and trend analysis. We place each engine where it has been measured to fit.

Your institution or its designated decision application. Bassirah designs and operates the surrounding data platform, including feature access, investigation analytics, lineage and reliability.

Product selection alone does not confer compliance. We validate residency, privacy, retention, security and regulatory requirements with your stakeholders during discovery and design controls and evidence to support your compliance program.

It depends on the support model, licensed capabilities and governance features you need. Starburst is a strategic partner route; Trino OSS is supported through independent Bassirah engineering. We compare both against your workload.

A fraud and risk data architecture workshop or a banking data architecture assessment. Both end with an architecture decision record, target SLOs and phased PoC acceptance criteria.
