HEALTHCARE

Connected Data for Safer, More Efficient Care.

Improve operational visibility and data interoperability through appropriately governed, privacy-conscious architecture. Bassirah helps healthcare organizations build trusted views of capacity, patient flow and operations, with least-privilege access and lineage designed in from the start.

THE CHALLENGE

Better Care Depends on Data That Arrives on Time and Can Be Trusted.

Healthcare organizations run on many specialized systems. Getting a timely, reconciled view across them, while protecting sensitive data, is one of the hardest data problems in any sector.

Many systems, many formats

Clinical, administrative, scheduling and financial systems each hold part of the picture, with different data models and update cycles.

Timeliness for operations

Capacity and patient-flow decisions need current data, but batch extracts often arrive too late to act on.

Protected data

Access must follow least-privilege principles, with clear evidence of who can see which data and why.

Reconciliation and trust

Operational and financial figures must reconcile across systems before leaders and clinicians rely on them.

OUTCOMES

Where Connected Data Makes a Difference.

Healthcare operations analytics

Give operations teams timely dashboards on throughput, utilization and service demand, served from an analytical store sized for the workload.

Capacity & patient flow

Combine scheduling, admissions and resource data into reconciled views that support capacity planning and flow decisions.

Clinical data integration

Integrate data from operational systems into governed models, with ownership, classification and lineage recorded in a catalog.

Revenue-cycle reporting & lineage

Build tested, documented models for revenue-cycle reporting so every figure can be traced back to its source.

Let’s map the sources and controls together.

REFERENCE APPROACH

Governed Access to Fit-for-Purpose Stores.

PostgreSQL or MongoDB Community for operational data where appropriate, DataHub governance, Trino or Starburst access, and ClickHouse analytics. Each store is chosen for its workload, and access controls are enforced in the underlying systems as well as at the query layer.

Logical pattern

  1. Operational sources.Existing clinical and administrative systems, plus PostgreSQL or MongoDB Community for new operational applications where appropriate.
  2. Catalog and classify.DataHub records ownership, classification and lineage for priority datasets.
  3. Governed federation.Trino OSS or Starburst provides permitted SQL access across sources, with least-privilege policies.
  4. Analytical serving.ClickHouse serves operational dashboards and trend analysis where timeliness and concurrency require it.
  5. Model and reconcile.dbt builds tested models with reconciliation checks before data reaches reports.

PROOF PACKAGE

Measured Trust, Not Assumed Trust.

We agree measurable acceptance criteria with your data, privacy and clinical-operations stakeholders, then validate them during a proof of concept. These are the metrics we validate, not guaranteed results.

What we measure

  • Timeliness: time from source event to available, reconciled data
  • Reconciliation: agreement of key figures across source and analytical systems
  • Least-privilege tests: evidence that users access only permitted data
  • Quality KPIs: completeness, validity and freshness of priority datasets

What you receive

  • Architecture decision record
  • Secure data-flow model with access and retention controls
  • Data quality and reconciliation test suite
  • Phased proof-of-concept acceptance criteria

ARCHITECTURE BLUEPRINT

Open Iceberg Lakehouse & Governed Federation

Combine customer-controlled object storage, distributed SQL access, analytics engineering and metadata visibility in one composable pattern. A practical foundation for governed healthcare data, with integrations validated before they are relied on.

Delivery caveat.

Bassirah validates sector-specific residency, privacy, retention, security and regulatory requirements during discovery. Product selection alone does not confer compliance. Controls for protected data are designed with your privacy and security teams and validated per engagement.

Healthcare FAQs

Product selection alone does not confer compliance. We validate residency, privacy, retention and security requirements with your stakeholders during discovery and design controls and evidence to support your compliance program.

Not necessarily. Governed federation lets permitted users query selected sources in place, while a lakehouse or analytical store holds data that needs reconciliation or faster access.

Through least-privilege access enforced in source systems and at the query layer, data classification in the catalog, data minimization, retention rules and tested access policies, all designed with your privacy and security teams.

Yes. We integrate with existing systems through supported connectors and pipelines, validated per source during discovery.

Where appropriate and permitted. Our Enterprise AI practice designs observability, evaluation and data operations around AI applications, within the same governance controls.
